Assessment of the range of potential funds and funding mechanisms for CO2 transportation networks
Ioannis Chrysostomidis, Paul Zakkour, ERM
This report has been prepared for Phase II of the CO2 Capture Project (CCP2)
by Environmental Resources Management (ERM). The basis for the research was the view that pipelines for CO2 transport could evolve in two ways:
1. On a point-to-point basis, which match a specific source to a specific
storage location; or
2. Via the development of pipeline networks, including backbone pipelinesystems, which allow for common carriage of CO2 from multiple sources to multiple sinks.
The report covers funding options and geo-political factors.
