Review and Evaluation of the CO2 Capture Project by the Technical Advisory Board 2004Vello A. Kuuskraa The conclusions of the evaluation were that the CCP has identified and developed a suite of advanced technologies that have the potential to reduce the costs of CO2 capture by a third to over a half, with further work offering promise of additional cost reductions. It has made major contributions to the knowledge base and monitoring technology for assuring safe, reliable geologic storage of CO2. It has developed a Common Economic Model (CEM) that is usable by a wide variety of policy, research and technology managers. The work by the CO2 Capture Project is forging a significantly lower-cost, zero-emissions pathway toward introducing hydrogen as the fuel of the future. |
